Edress - MS LifeLines Ambassador

I was excited to start my new position in the insurance industry and relieved to have health care benefits. But my relief was short-lived when I discovered that my relapsing MS was considered a "pre-existing condition" and that the cost of my therapy would not be covered for a period of time. My doctor and I wanted me to be on Rebif, but there was no way I could afford it.

Fortunately, I discovered MS LifeLines Access Made Simple. At first, it sounded too good to be true. I was told that in my situation, I would get Rebif at no cost. As someone who knows a lot about health care coverage, I was skeptical. I'm not rich, but I have a job and I have assets, which I know can sometimes be enough to disqualify you from many financial assistance programs. I was also well aware of the substantial amount of paperwork involved in applying for assistance. I was pleasantly surprised by the MS LifeLines Access Made Simple program. Not only did I qualify for the program, my Financial Support representative at MS LifeLines® helped me every step of the way.

After six months, my health insurer lifted the "pre-existing condition" clause around my MS, but I was still left with a substantial co-pay. My Financial Support representative at MS LifeLines told me I was still eligible to continue in the MS LifeLines Access Made Simple program because of my co-pay.

My MS LifeLines nurse still checks in with me every couple of months, and my pharmacy calls every month or so to make sure I'm up to date with my prescription. It's a coordinated effort to help simplify my life! Best of all, I don't have to worry about affording Rebif. I need to take my therapy, but I have bills to pay, too. Plus, my Financial Support representative told me that 90 days before my one-year enrollment period in the MS LifeLines Access Made Simple program ends, MS LifeLines will work with me to research available patient assistance programs. The MS LifeLines Access Made Simple program has been a blessing to me.
